Did you ever upload the entire game? I am interested in being able to see the entire game. I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and have been a Magic Johnson fan since my early days in the military. I watched his entire career. I too believe him to be the best basketball player to ever play the game. Sorry MJ but you didn’t win your H.S. championship, your college championship, and the NBA championship in a 4 year period.

As fate would have it, Magic attended Everett HS coached by George Fox. It was sort of the like the Beatles meeting George Martin. A perfect combination. Then to go on to Michigan State and Jud Heathcote. Magic had brilliant coaching as he developed.

Actually, Earvin scored 54 against Sexton, which was the city scoring record. Vincent scored 61.
State record for the top five are as follows:
97 – Ed Burling, Crystal Falls (107) vs. Iron River (27) (1910-11)
84 – Anton Phillips, Glen Arbor-Leelanau vs. Freesoil (2-17-89)
83 – Dick Seagram, Detroit St. Martin vs. Detroit St. Philip (2-17-48)
80 – Ray Warner, Rapid City vs. Williamsburg (12-6-55)
73 – Larry Fogle, Detroit Cooley vs. Detroit Cody (2-4-72)

Wow! I remember Lansing TV showed this game live, the first time for a state championship. I remember Tim Andre from BBR and he was a beast inside. Went on to Notre Dame. And Kevin Smith hit that half court shot… he eventually came and played at Mich State but Majic went pro. Lansing Eastern was actually a better team with Jay Vincent who Majic teamed up with at Mich State. Many people forget how great a force Jay was in the post. Load torrent through Demonoid!

I was at this game. Do you have the OT portion? Earvin had fouled out and there was a timeout, I think, Coach Fox sent everyone back out to the court and Earvin called the Everett players back to give them the real instructions. Coach Fox had sat down at the end of the bench and got back up to hear the coaching Earvin gave the Everett five. Earvin was in charge way back then. Great video! Brings back wonderful memories.
