Sorry it’s not detailed Cap. I’m not going to argue with anyones opinion. Magic is my favorite player of all-time. So on my list he’s the best.

EDIT: Sticking to who I’ve actually watched play the game. So no disrespect to Russell, Chamberlain, West, Baylor and so on…

First off, this is such an excellent question. Big ups to you for asking this question.

Earvin "Magic" Johnson has to be at least top 5 all time. He is the definition of a prototype player, being able to play all 5 positions. In addition, he is the best point guard to play the game with simply his size and court vision and his game spurring "Showtime" and changing the face of the NBA and making basketball more fun in general. He reminds me of Lebron James because both of them know how to work a crowd.

if i were to rank magic johnson i would rank him around 7th all time. most people would think i am crazy, but earvin had a strong supporting cast(james worthy and kareem) so he shouldn’t be ranked so high. Many players have lead their teams to finals or championships without hall of famers. It’s hard to judge effectively because his career was shortened.
Reasons why magic is so good is that his size, his versatility(playing all five positions) and being good at everything but shooting 3’s. Players in my opinion above him are mj, wilt, oscar robertson, tim duncan, hakeem olajuwon, kobe bryant(yes you heard me).

Magic Johnson would be #2 because he may be the most versatile basketball player of all time and the only guy that can play any position from PG to C. Magic could do everything such as scoring,rebounding,and dishing.

Bird and Magic a half-step below him. I can’t decide if the rivalry between the two of them makes them look better, or worse.

Tier 3 has Duncan, Kareem, Shaq, Russell, Oscar, probably a couple of others I’m forgetting.

Magic is in my top 5 greatest of all-time. And the greatest Lakers to ever wear the uniform.

-he has done amazing things in his career. He has won 6 championships with the Bulls and 1 while he was sick. He was voted 5 times NBA MVP, and selected 10 times as All NBA First Team

2. Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson
-He has won 5 championships with the Lakers. he had many "triple-doubles", in his season. He was the tallest PG in league history. He was voted 9 times of All NBA Team. He is 4th in NBA history in assists.

3. Larry Bird
-Eventhough he has only won 2 championships in his career. He was amazing on the court. He was known for his deadly shooting from the
3-point line, and from the inside. He was 3 time MVP.

4. Wilt Chamberlain
-I know everyone must think, how he came in the top 5. But here is the reason. Eventhough he has only won 2 chmapionships. He was the 1st person to score 4,000 points in a season. The only person to score 100 points in a game.

5. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
-He has won 6 championships in his career. He was the NBA highest scorer. He was very quick for a guy who is 7′2. He was 2 time NBA Finals MVP. He was 19 times All-Star. He was also Rookie of the Year.

2.Bill Russell-I put Russell as #2 because i think defense is more important to win rings,to have success

4.Kareem Abdul Jabbar-His list of acomplishemnts is the best ever,alll time leading scorer,won 6 MVPs,was on 19 All Star Games……
5.Shaqille O’Neal-He dominated everything and he was the first reason why i was a Lakers fan.Shag is the most dominating center ever no doubt,he was strong,great power dunker and etc
